Did that B8 shampooer come from ebay? I posted about one a while back that I saw on there.

Wow, Keith ... awesome Model 1453! And, I'm impressed that you have most of the Electrolux bronze series from 1979 to 1982! The only one you're missing (I think) is the Model CB and the PN-4A (short motor housing) and PN-4C (3-wire) power nozzles. The uprights of the era, models 1451 & 1451E were tan.

Also, in case you didn't know, the Olympia One had three different models: 1401 (Spring-Autumn 1979), 1401-B with wider wheels, bumper fins, & 2 handles (Autumn 1979-Winter 1982); and 1505 with PN-4A (Winter-Spring 1982). The B-8 even had two slightly different versions: an earlier one with the detachable power cord and classic shampoo tank label and the more popular one with the hard-wired cord and label with block "Carpet Beautifier" text instead of cursive.

Btw, the 1453 Deluxe Special was made from 1979 to 1987 in four color patterns that matched the standard cleaners: bronze & ivory; metallic gray & gray; sand & jade; and sand & taupe (only made for a short time in 1987).

Trivia: The bronze 1453 was the only one that had two versions--the "Deluxe Special Model", with the power nozzle and the "Special Model" without the pn (dubbed "Olympia II" in Canada); "Olympia Special Model" is a nickname used by some. The straight suction option was only available for a short time before being discontinued. In addition, with the bronze 1453, a customer had the option of not having either a cord winder or a cord wrap (like the 1950s Model S, the cord was just hand-coiled and stored in the handle).

Nice collection!

Super nice collection.

They look like they're in awesome condition, too. At this point, nearly 40 years on, it more difficult to find ones that aren't scratched and beat up.
This looks like you have the entire "set".

My first Electrolux was an Olympia One, vs. 2. I remember the first time the door automatically popped open, too. I was like "what's wrong with this thing? I just changed the bag" It was full. It was just doing it's job.

Enjoy. Thanks for sharing.

@ Paul :hands down you have lots of valuable information on the history of these machines! Your a great asset not only to me , but to the group as well! I was thinking that the set would be complete if I had the CB and upright but at this point I just don’t have the room and secondly the upright is ..well you know where I’m going! Thanks for the feedback Paul!

@ Greg : thanks for the compliment !

"--not having either a cordwinder or cord wrap--"

Early models without either had a rubber strap to hang from handle after coiling cord.

It’s amazing to discover that Electrolux created alternate models within a current series . Great knowledge share everyone 😊

Keither, is your collection exclusivly Electrolux ?

Was just curious how many you have. Also is there a model you're still looking for?

Hey Bill How are you? Electrolux / Aerus is my primary choice but I have other brands ( Eureka , Hoover, Kirby ,GE, Tristar, Premier , etc ) I have close to 60 machines in my collection. It would be cool to find an Electrolux CA , a Montgomery Ward Canned Ham Power Team and the Eureka Deluxe Tool Kit that was sold with the Eureka Empress II. We should talk sometime , better yet meet! Your in Concord Ca right? I will email you my number when I get back.
