Hi!

I have a Miele "Super Electronic" S238i "air clean" vacuum.

This was my Mom's pride and joy, way back when it worked.

But it still works, that is, the motor runs, the foot switches work, the S 025 "power brush" works, even.

However, it suffers from what I can only presume was a common problem, the hose has unraveled or delaminated so that it is just a long string between vac and hose nozzle. The wires in the hose still work, since I wouldn't be able to test the motors if not!

I loved that ability to adjust the suction with your thumb...

Unfortunately, I guess we waited too long, and Miele no longer sells a replacement hose assembly for this model.

I'm wondering if anyone has somehow repaired this hose, or if there is perhaps a vacuum dealer someplace that just might have one of these hoses (I'm not even sure of what model...) available.

Thanks for any assistance!

(Sorry for the blurry one of the hose...)

That can be tricky, but not impossible.

If there is a label under the handle, near where the hose connects, and it is legible, you may be able to locate your exact hose model which could help.

Rebuilding the hose is sometimes possible using parts from a donor. A lot of those hose assemblies share the same hose blank with different ends for different models.

Could be worth a trip (or at least some calls) to a local dealer to see if they keep old stuff around and may be able to help.

I tried calling the phone number located on the dealer tag pictured and seems to be disconnected ... would have been a good start

Good luck with your vac ~

Thanks. I’ll see if there is anything left under the duct tape... There is a number molded into a plastic piece on the end of the hose that attaches at the main body. “Miele T- Nr.-1348550”.

Form what I’ve seen, this may be a unique hose. There are three conductors going through from the nozzle end to a three conductor plug into the main body of the vac. The third is the speed control.

It’s worth a try, anyway!

The number in my last post is for the slide that releases the hose from the vac...
