I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was one of the best I’ve had in many years for several reasons, but on this site, let’s stick to vacuums! Over the weekend I obtained 3 beautiful machines, and I want to share with you all the most recent additions to my collection.

This year has been very fun for collecting, as for reasons unknown to me, I’ve fallen into the vacuum dieties good graces and my collection has exploded in the recent months. It’s funny how you can go ages and find nothing worth even restoring, and then suddenly everything you’ve always hoped for seems to show up.

I must give a very special thanks to the member here who was kind enough to part with these machines, as I know how special they are and there’s not a snowballs chance in hell I’d have let go of them. I don’t want to name names, so if the source reveals himself then that’s upto him. But... they have a very loving and caring home now, and I am beyond excited and happy - and even more thankful.

Here they are!

Kirby 518
Electrolux Model 30
Electrolux Model 60

That Kirby is totally awesome! And what cool attachments. The Electrolux vacuums aren't my thing but they are beautiful too. Man, I can't imagine dragging those things around on runners. They look really heavy.

Chris,

That is cool you found an all-original 518 -- meaning with the original factory cloth bag, the original gray wheels and the original gray cord with red plugs!

1: Thank you!!!

2: It’s surprisingly light. It’s super easy to pull around when cleaning and also quiet as a mouse!

3: I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it’s mine now. It’s an amazing machine and the fact that so much of it’s “core” is intact, original, and in great shape is something incredibly special. Having the attachments for it just sends everything even farther over the top for me.

I’ve been using all three of them today, and they all perform beautifully.

What a stunningly beautiful Kirby!! btw the blue Electrolux is a Model LXI not LX ("60" as you called it).

See the link below and scroll down to "Model LXI" along with the images I posted: sales receipt, inside-flap of disposable bag carton, illustrations from the instruction manual.

If you look along the edge of the top trim piece it should state Model LXI.

Those vacuums are super nice-was the Kirby polished when you got it?what really got my attention was the Zenith Transoceanic radio in the background.Have two of them. One of the best gen coverage receivers out there.

Hey!

LXi, yes. Please forgive me, I’m more knowledgeable with Kirby than with Electrolux. I do have the owners manuals for both machines, though! My favorite part is in the manual for the LXi, where they feature a little girl vacuuming the cat, haha.

Yes, it was polished when I received it. I did do a minor once over, though it had already been fully and professionally restored. The Zenith I’ve had for a few years and have done some things to it, it powers on but I cannot receive any signal. I really need to decide if I want to fix it or give up on it - but with the vacuum collection it always gets pushed to the side. I was wondering if anyone would notice the radio!
