Boy does that look almost mint! I love my two Gs, one in teal and another in brown/beige. They have great suction for an older machine and are easy to pull around and use for over an hour without overheating!
Try these HEPA cloth bags, they work very well and fit perfectly!

Also, as a good friend mentioned to me, it's fun to use the original hose that matches color, but if you really want to enjoy the machines performance while cleaning, then get a new vinyl hose that will fit the G. They're not too hard to find on-line, usually new. Some will have the pig-tail electric connector which is what you want if you're going to be using the power nozzle, or just get a non-electric capable version if you don't intend to find a power nozzle for her someday.
Enjoy.. I know you will.

Very cool! I have one in a lot worse shape, but still runs! They do have a quiet soft sound to them. I really love those dusting brushes, very cool, I need to find one of them too.
I agree with Bill, if you plan to use it daily or often enough, you will want a vinyl hose. It looks ugly, sure, but it will save your original hose from breaking apart, and the original hose is not flexible at all and very stiff and cumbersome. People have a lot more furniture and packed homes now than in the 1950's, so having a stiff hose that you need 4 or 5 feet to maneuver around isn't very practical today. Maybe you could be able to paint the hose to match the G, not sure if anyone has tried that before, I know rubber is difficult to paint. |
