In my quest for OEM hose for one of my Constellations, I came across this Dial A Matic with hose for sale. Is the aluminum bent end (for wand attachments) identical to what would have been on the Constellation? I'm presuming so. My thought was that I could buy this machine and adapt the hose to my existing constellation hose suction inlet elbow...

The bent end is similar, although the Constellation usually would have had a suction slider control, particularly for earlier models. And most Constellations used the Ultraflex material and a rubber piece where the aluminum attachment end meets the hose. This Dial A Matic hose is more the style that came with the Slimine. Those had that brown plastic cone shaped piece and usually no suction control and that I think is called Tuflex material.

That said if you like the Dial A Matic, go for it! I just think it would be easier to find a real Constellation hose that's more authentic than try to adapt one.

The Constellation hose is also a bit larger diameter so you would probably have some trouble fitting the Dial-A-Matic hose onto the machine end.

Thanks for the input, guys. Surely appreciated! I think I'll leave the Dial-A-Matic for someone else, then.
