Although I've always wanted a Concept One (they were pricey things new when I was in my 20s!), I haven't ever really searched for one. Yesterday, while hunting 2nd hand shops for an elusive hose for one of my Constellations, THIS thing stood staring me in the face in a back corner of a room. I *ALMOST* didn't buy it as I'm not a fan of blue coloured machines usually, but it looked way too nice to pass up.

Tried to test it, but it wouldn't switch on. As I'm always up for a challenge, I took a shot that I might get it working when I got it home. The brush roll alone was worth grabbing this machine--it's in nice shape (relatively low wear) and as those are getting impossible to find, I figured I'd buy it just in case I ever needed parts later.

So, got it home, popped the handle off and switched power on from inside. Nothing wrong at all. Works beautifully. Put it back together and proceeded to vac all my downstairs rugs. NICE! Only missing bits are headlights (both are burnt out--no big deal) and the drive control button is AWOL...not a big thing, but someday I might luck out and find one.

A LOT of retired Hoover employees have said that the Concept was one of the BEST machines they ever made. They're heavy, but great machines. Yes, one cannot buy a NEW brushroll........................ TTI wants them to die....... because they are SO good.
