Hey guys, I recently was given a Simplicity 7200 to repair. It has a bad motor, and the people who requested it be repaired have decided to just get a new vacuum so now it belongs to me. The information I'm looking for is whether or not this vacuum is worth keeping and repairing if I already have a 7850? I know that the 7200 is much older, but is it more rare? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I will be uploading pictures soon.

It is rare

It's one of their most uncommon models. A new motor is around less than $200.

7200 has no on-board tools. 7250 has on-board tools. 7300 (my favorite) has no on-board tools, 7350 does have. If there's a '50' in the model number, it has on-board tools.

Hey

I would buy a new motor.  Simplicity/riccar vacuums are awesome.  I'd call vac shops.  I took riccar sl4 and they had a warrantied out vacuum.  They may have a motor that they have gotten free.  If you pay them to install and do tune up I'd almost positive they would run closer to $100 and everything would be fixed.

I myself don't care either way for onboard tools. I'd call vac shops.  Better yet go in.  If they have spare motor they might not admit over phone.  The motor cost them nothing and pure profit.  You get VAcuum in pristine condition for a good price they get profit selling to you.
