Nice job getting everything. 2 vacuums hose kit another kit and tools. That is quite the clean up.
I recently bought a tradition and did complete tune up on it. I tore out bag assembly used 2.5 inch hole saw bit. I put in tubing and attached f adapter to it. You could also use heritage tube. The thing is awesome. The royal I have looks like that but it's stored away waiting for transplant from another vacuum I don't have yet. I recently scored a classic I'm waiting for fan from Kirby needs. I'm going to give it the same tune up. I'm trying to make a plate for it for bagging system. But I got I believe every attachment available for it. I got it for free. I was going to buy the VAcuum from him for twenty bucks. I was hard pressed for any extra money I told him because if he was waiting on me when I wouldn't be able to afford I felt bad. He asked if I was a collector of course I am. I have too many. He said you pick it up it's yours. So I got it free. It has the brownish tan bag it's original with machine with patch. I have been stoked. I just wanted to fix up tradition, classic and Omega since first vacuums I did I ruined all 3 and want to redeem myself. I hope to polish up and show you guys. You have to show us how they come along. You might have posted but does your tradition have headlight lock. Again very nice score very nice. 2 vacuums will last forever and great attachment accessories. Les |

Les,
Your eyes are likely deceiving you; the Tradition never had the lettering on the bag cap but, of course, you're correct the Classic III's bag cap did. The bag cap for the Tradition didn't need that because it said "Kirby Tradition" on the handle fork label. There was, however, one Tradition version that did have lettering on the bag cap: the Golden Trophy model, which said "Kirby - Golden Trophy" in, of course, gold lettering. My Tradition did have the headlight lock before, but the cap lock button mechanism is totally gone. That cap lock assembly also meant the original speed switch was inside the cap, before the conversion to the one on the fan case. ~Ben |
