I've twice now, seen the older style larger power nozzle (head) on a HII but wondered if these were just pieced together and put the factory correct bumpers on them...and belt lifter. Seems like a lot of work to do that though...anyone have any explanation? I included a photo of it and the standard, smaller nozzle I"ve always seen on H2 and Legend 2 Kirbys

the very early 1984 heritage II's had the heritage I full sized nozzle. they didnt shave the wings until 1985. also in 1984 the heritage II came with a rare cardboard attachment box, like the heritage and older models. the kaddy didnt come out again, until 1985. so yes, both nozzles are correct, the the winged is much more rare to find. also the very early heritage II's came with the turbo brush in black, no the zipp brush, rare attachement to find like the hammertone sani emtor and shake bag.

Kelton,

Yes, like Will had said, the fall 1984 production run of the 2HD Heritage II did have the winged version of the casting as carried over from the 1HD Heritage, as well as the cardboard box for the basic attachments. There was even a black version of the optional Turbo Brush (another Heritage I artifact) in this early run, which in the spring of 1985 was replaced with the Zippbrush.

There was also the smaller 13" wide nozzle, also carried over from the 1HD Heritage, which was desirable for anyone who cleaned up in places that had lots of tight spaces.

I thought you had a 13" nozzle Ben.  If so please post again I think it's nicest nozzle since d80.

Kelton,

The early Heritage II 16" nozzle. This one, though, lacks the additional lug for the Classic Omega/Tradition speed switch, which puts this one as being made from December 1984 to March 1985.
