I finally got my Miele about a month ago, got a pretty much unused (still had the original bag in with only a few spoonfuls of dirt in it) U1 Maverick upright (guessing either store display or return) for a cool $50 rather than $450+, and I've been loving it until yesterday. We have 2 cats and a small dog, so I vacuum pretty thoroughly either every day or every other day. Yesterday I was vacuuming and had finished most of the house, had just started in the laundry room when it started vibrating and making quite a bit of noise. The noise was coming from the brushroll area, if I switched off the brushroll the noise was gone. I opened it up this afternoon fearing the worst (teeth broken off the belt or pulleys) and found everything intact. I was vacuuming thick carpet when the noise started so it wouldn't have been a surprise. What I did find, was a single granule of cat litter embedded between two of the teeth on the brushroll. Yay! Picked it out with a fingernail, put everything back together and all was well. Quiet and smooth again, same great cleaning power as always! Love this machine!

Wow Dustin.. great deal for sure!

I Love my Miele S7 Swing Upright, it’s the older model but with the digital suction/motor speed controls and the Automatic setting. I’ve mentioned it before, but I quit smoking cigarettes in November of 2011 and was a two pack a day smoker. So long story short I started putting the money I’d been spending on those cigs back in a special savings and before long I had over $1,000 saved up and I bought the (back then, $800) Miele top of the line Swing! I love it and my last home had lots of wall to wall carpeting, so it got a lot of use. Now it’s more of a collectible to me as they are very hard to find new, with the digital controls.

Thanks for sharing and again.. Wow excellent deal!

Please post some pics if you get a chance.. I could look at beautiful Miele vacuums all day! Lol

Patrick

I'll have to give it a wipe down, but it's a pretty sharp looking machine, all black. Mine doesn't have the headlight and it has the variable suction dial. I've been vacuuming with a "full" bag for a couple weeks, and little to no loss of suction. I need to get off my behind and order some bags!
