What kind of motor brushes will fit one of these eurekas? Will Kirby brushes work? Any help will be appreciated.

Take out a brush and measure it? It should have 2 uncrewable brush holders on the sides of the motor. They should be ordinary brushes, you're not going to get a part number, you will have to search by size.

As the brushes were disgusting and broken, they went right in the trash. Can anybody show the measurements of good eureka brushes?

Ok. I've thrown away stuff like that in the past and gotten burned, so I learned my lesson. NEVER ever discard parts until you have a replacement installed AND working. That holds true for everything, especially car parts, and even more especially for parts of something vintage. *cough*

Live and learn. Fortunately, you can still measure the brush holders. Get out your caliper, that you definitely should have, and measure the internal height and width of the brush holder. Depth is usually not so important. Some brushes are square and some are rectangular.

I'm hoping you didn't throw away the brush holder caps.
