I had a relative that had given us two Kenmore canister vacuums in about 1993. One was a swivel hose style with Power Mate from 1987 in beige and brown. The other was a rounded looking straight suction model with no cord winder. I don't remember seeing it, the one with PN had bad brushes so my father took the brushes from the straight suction and put in the PN one and threw the straight suction model away.
I believe I still have the manual for it somewhere here. My grandma MAY still have the attachments to it, if she didn't toss them out. I remember seeing them, the attachments were brown plastic, a very simple upholstery tool, crevice tool and a plastic rug tool with floating brush that said SEARS in a circle. Just like the gray ones they still sold until a few years ago. My grandma said she thought the vacuum was brown but wasn't sure. I'm just trying to place it, because it's not one I've seen much. I believe it was made in the early 80s but may have come out in the 60s. I've seen the 60s ones here but not 70s or 80s versions. From the manual it looked like the cord wrapped around a rectangular piece on top that stored the tools on pegs. The power switch was on the back of the unit where the cord was. I don't know if it had plastic wands, but it appeared they may have been so. I believe it took 5011 bags, and had the round filter on top of the motor. |
