So today I have an interesting curious topic today. I know that you can look up the month and year of any Hoover vacuums by a 4 digit date code which they started doing around ‘87. Well I have 10 true vintage Hoovers that don’t have the 4 digit code on the serial numbers and I always love to know what date my vacuums were made in because they’re still a great piece of history. So my question is how do you look for the month and year your Hoover was made in? Do you check inside the motor or something? Thanks!

without someone who has access to a hoover production book with models, serial numbers , and months or years produced. without this book , i only know tom anderson has one.you really cant accurately date them, and even so it would be a range, not an exact date.
unless you look at the metal castings and know how to read a sundial casting wheel, and not all parts had these, as those casting stamps were made on unfinished parts of the machine. usually the underside of something. |
