Hello Everyone!

I recently acquired my Mom’s Electrolux vacuum. It’s from the mid 40’s. The suction is so so and I wanted to know if I could get a new motor for it? It has all of the attachments and a really cool paper dust bag converter attachment!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Frank

First of all a picture of the vacuum would help

If, as your subject line suggests, it's an Electrolux XX, chances are it has a woven hose, which are known to deteriorate and leak over time. Check the suction at the end of the hose and compare it to the suction directly from the machine. A simple hand over the opening will do. If there's a noticeable difference in suction, the hose is the culprit.

The guy said it has a paper dust bag converter which means he must have an XXX, not an XX.
