Hello All,
This is the last of my Singer vacuum brochures that I have and it is in poor condition. It has some good info on their hand held vacuums. Interesting the the "De Luxe", (which is an odd spelling), model Like R-2D, R-3D and R-4D meant that it was equipped with the cord winder. The 5-R model all had cord winders and I believe the "Standard" model with cord hooks was discontinued. I believe Electrolux and Singer were the first vacuums to offer cord winders. The "De Luxe" had a glass lens and the "Standard had just a grill. My R-4 and R-4D have have a sliding switch with a red dot in the middle of it and both have plastic or Bakelite hand grip were as the A-2, R-1, R2, and I believe R-3 have painted wooden hand grips and a toggle type 2-speed switch. On my R-5, which I sold, had a brownish speckled switch with a black dot in the middle and the wheels and hand grip were of the same color and there was no handle fork. The hand grip and bag are not correct on the R-5 in the last picture and I am not sure about the Edison plug on the second to last picture being original. Please correct any errors I have made.
Thank you for looking,
Pete

That little singer hand vacuum appears to be more versatile than the new Dyson hand vacuums!Could the Dyson vacuums be used with a sprayer or mothball gas dispensors? Now if we could have a cordless version of that singer hand vacuum today!I would get one!
