Just bought a new bagged Bissell from Walmart. Video shows some initial use. I got this to use on dirty carpets because I'm tired of using my DC25 or Sanitaire SC899 or SC679 on peoples carpets.
The last straw was when I asked a customer if any liquid or pet messes had been spilled in the last day or so. They said no, and sure enough I notice liquid being picked up by my DC25. It was urine. So I got to do a teardown of my vacuum once again and clean all the urine out of the brushroll and even into the pre-motor filter.
I have Sanitaires, but they don't edge clean closely enough, so this bagged Bissell seems to fit the bill.
It isn't smooth to operate, and feels rough, but it isn't for use on my home, or on any really great carpets generally so I think it will be fine. I've added a 25ft extension cord to it and now it has some range.
I know from using a bagless Bissell a few years ago that it can shred up the carpets if used frequently, so I wouldn't choose this for my own personal home vacuum, but for use once on a customers carpet I think it'll be fine.
So this first video with the Bissell will be followed up in time with more repeated videos showing how it does long term. I keep my vacuums clean and well maintained so this isn't going to be a situation where I try to ruin it. I plan to show it in real world use, but being maintained to make it last as long as possible.
We'll see how it does...
