Hello Everybody,

I need help from the Aerus Electrolux collectors or anyone who can identify the model and series of this vacuum I found online for sale. It’s a seller about 25 miles from me and they haven’t replied yet as to the model of this vacuum, but I want to get an idea of the cost to replace the hose. Other than the hose having a “split” near the canister, the seller lists it in great condition and the picture shows the parts and accessories you get with the sale. Sorry the one and only picture available isn’t better quality. From what I’ve found so far it’s possibly an Electrolux Renaissance Model from about 1993?? But I’d need more specifics

Also “IF” the hose handle touch control panel is in perfect working order.. can “only” the hose with it’s two connector ends be purchased to save money? I’ve seen some that look like they have brass connectors that might plug into the handle?

I’d truly be greatful and appreciative to anyone who could help me find out what the model number is so I can get a better idea at how much the hose will cost, as initial searching online shows anywhere from $75 bucks (acceptable) all the way up to $410 (which although I’m sure a good deal, too high for me). I only ask as I see what appears to be a lot of buttons on the hose handle and an expensive looking electronic control on the handle. Are these hoses even available still?? I wouldn’t want to keep it or use it if the hose is torn or “split” as the seller indicated as I’m wanting this first vacuum to be fully functional.

I only have the one picture as the seller appears to be elderly or selling it for an elderly relative and might not get back to me for several more days. But if I can figure out this pricing information, I will have the seller hold this vacuum for me.

Also, anyone have a good supplies place or know where I could get the new hose, where shipping to Ohio would not be exorbitant?? I’d appreciate any and all help as I LOVE hearing about the excitement of owning these Excellent High End Vacuums and would love the privilege of owning one myself. It would be my first Aerus or is this one simply an Electrolux as it’s branded?? Finally, does anyone know where to get or how much a new brushroll costs, as I have No picture of the underside of the motorized brushroll head. Any idea what this beautiful vacuum cost, full retail, when it was brand new? That will also help me decide if the cost plus cost of the replacement hose is worth it or not. I’d SO love to own this vacuum.. Thanks!

Thank you in advance,

Patrick

Hi Patrick!

I suppose I shouldn't even be responding, since I can't answer any of your questions.
But I like Electroluxes, so I can't help it!

Anything I could tell you about it, it seems like you already know.

I believe it was the top of the line model when new, and probably called the Renaissance.
My mom owned one briefly, back when she was trading them in every so often for the newest version.
Hers was an earlier version, based on the color.

The buttons on the handle pretty much run everything.
Power on/off.
Brushroll on/off.
The speed of the motor.

I know that the experts can date them by the color.
However, I'm not an expert. 🙁
My Ambassador III that I picked up off the curb is that same color though, so I'd be curious as to when it was made too.

The one you're considering is an Electrolux...before the name change to Aerus.
Also, I believe later versions had an external HEPA filter on top of the exhaust port.

I don't have any personal experience with this model. My "fanciest" Electroluxes are Epic 6500s.
But, for the Epic, you can find aftermarket hoses.
The complete assembly with the handle and ends and everything.
I'm always leery of aftermarket, but maybe they're fine.
Perhaps aftermarket hose assemblies are available for this model as well.
Something to consider if if the genuine article isn't available, or is outrageously expensive.

I'm sure someone owns the Renaissance/Guardian machines, and can be of more help to you.
I just wanted to chime in. It looks like a beautiful machine!
If you decide to buy it, I hope you love it, and it works out great for you!

Barry

Renaissance hose

Hi Patrick.

Doing a quick eBay search, I see a few sellers offering new, aftermarket hoses for this model.
They all seem to be grey, which would be nice, but the connection at the end might be a lighter color than your original. I don't know if that would bother you.

They all seem to be in that $75 range that you mentioned, and they don't include the handle with all the controls.
Maybe on the Renaissance, you don't have to replace that part when replacing the hose.

Now you've piqued my interest!
You'll have to keep us posted!

Barry

Yes this is a Renaissance. There are 2 versions. This is the first version with darker grey (charcoal - grey) and the second version was a light grey (oyster - grey). Only difference between the two models were the color.

The Renny was the first to have this bigger bulkier design which I personally like. Kind of retro looking to me almost like a model 30 with a modern twist lol.
After the renny the color became white and grey and white and blue, the models were lux 9000 and guardian. By this time there were know as Areus.

Thanks guys!

Sadly the seller had already sold this vacuum and didn’t know how to mark it “Sold” so I missed out!

The worst part is he had NO clue how great of a vacuum it was and sold it for $50 bucks! 😳

So thank you all for your help identifying the Electrolux Renaissance.

Patrick

I hate it when that happens!

Patrick, sorry to hear that.
You'll get one eventually.
It sounds like you need an Electrolux/Aerus of that era in your life!
I like them a lot, personally.

Barry
