Hi all~
Was cleaning out my storage and unboxed a forgotten item today...thought you'd like seeing pics. I stashed it away at least 15 years ago, funny what you forget about having! I sure would like to find a hose for this. I bought it without one, simply because there was no way I could leave this machine behind for god-knows-who to grab. You just have to rescue some things, right?!?!? Anyway, this runs BEAUTIFULLY and quiet, as well. I never fail to be impressed by it's ability to float, even on my tile flooring (several I've been around don't do so well on those surfaces, but this one sure does!). |

Thanks all. I'll be diligent about the hunt for the proper hose...but for now--miracle of miracles, this hose actually works! It doesn't fit the Hoover telescopic wands, obviously, but meet Connie Mc Franken-Miele in the pic below. Yep--the hose from my Miele S246i/Naturelle actually does fit and work with only very minor suction loss/seepage. Easily sortable...

Today I picked up a Constellation 454, with its original off-white elbow connector (and non-original clear hose). Stripped all the ugly aftermarket stuff off and reconfigured with a new, closer-to-original style hose. It's still going to need an aluminum angled tube and hosegrip, but at least I have something fairly close to correct for sharing between the two vacs!

Hi
Nice hoover, you can improve floatation on hard surfaces by attaching a ring of felt around the ring of the skirt (using double sided tap), leaving a little overhang on the insided circle. This acts as a skirt similar to a hover craft. I tried this, and my connie 862 just ran away all over the place even on uneven surfaces. However this does not work on carpet as the felt grabs. but hey why have just one connie when you can have several. Kieb |
