Hey all.

Okay...this may not even qualify as a vacuum to some, but after weeks of hemming and hawing over it, I finally parted with the $10 and brought home the little Hoover Quik-Broom II from Goodwill.
It's a blue three speed, model S2103.
Honestly, after partially disassembling it, at least to the point that I'm reasonably comfortable with, I don't know if I'll ever be able to get it clean enough to where I'm sure it won't spew dirt everywhere if I run it in the house.
Granted, I have hardly any experience with vacuums, and zero with stick vacs, but I have never seen so much dirt packed into every nook and cranny of any machine.
I thought my curb find, 75th Anniversary Epic 6500 was the dirtiest vacuum I would ever see.
But this little guy might have edged him out!
If I can muster the courage to start messing with wiring, I'll take the bag off and hand wash it.
Wiring, and opening up the motor housing are both pretty far outside of my comfort zone though.

The motor, somehow, still sounds great on all three speeds. (I tested it outside)
I think, if I could get it clean enough, it would be a really nice little vacuum for quick, light clean ups.
If getting this packed with dirt is just the nature of the beast with stick vacs though, I might just have to donate it back when it happens again!

And, what am I doing owning a second Hoover?
I've been strictly Electrolux canisters right along.
And actually, I would own a Celebrity right now too, if I hadn't dragged my feet!
John? Are you working some sort of Jedi mind tricks all the way from PA?

I'm not much for posting pictures, but if I manage to get this thing cleaned up nice, and figure out how to put it back together, I'll try to put up a couple.
I know it would be a handsome little fella with a lot of love and elbow grease.

Barry
