I have a kirby sanitronic head that I bought to fit on my heritage 2. While I had it apart for cleaning I compared the belt lifter assembly to one from an avalir. I ended up 3d printing a bushing that allows the avalir belt lifter to be installed on a sanitronic head. A little plastic needed to be trimmed to clear the stop screw. It assembles and works the same as on the avalir.

I saw a video of someone using a heritage nozzle on a g4.

I tried it with an avalir. The hooks on the newer vacuums are wider so the old nozzle can't go on centered. I offset it to the left side. It locks in place and the belt can be installed. I 3d printed a little block to press in on the safty switch. It vacuums like normal.

I put my g4 on d80 it fit funky. You can get most heads to interchange if you modify wiring of safety switch. Where i live in classifieds a guy is selling heritage 2 with sanatronic nozzle. He had to. Do something to safety switch.

Chris,

Believe it or not the Heritage (84), Heritage II (Legend) and Legend II actually did have the 13" nozzle as an option.

You are right, too, that the G3/G4 nozzle (and other front-mounted accessories like the hose and the Carpet Cleaning System nozzle casting) will not work on models G5 to the present Avalir II due to the fan case and gasket design.

It's true! I ordered my Heritage II with both heads and prefer the 13 inch head, especially now that it has a 4 row brushroll.

Look closely at video

Look closely at video - the safety switch plugs are missing --- thus the vacuum will turn on and run without anything attached to the vac.

Once upon a time.

I modded an old 500 series head to work with the H-L2 speed switch I just drilled a hole in the back of the nozzle, screwed in a bolt and then snapped it off at a proper distance so that low speed would be triggered.

I also bought a Heritage II with the proper small head but I couldn't justify keeping two machines around that were so similar, so i kept the small head and found a spare H2 large head and gave that to a friend who needed a vacuum. It wasn't until later i realized that the headlight "cap" is a little different to accommodate the raised edges on the top of the small nozzle.

4 row brushroll

Kelton!

Sorry I didn't see your posting. Les gave you the answer and as an upgraded member you can use the in-house messaging to talk with Bill. He still has a limited # of brush rolls for sale. Price is equivalent to Ebay. Greg
