Hello! Just wondering if anyone would recommend a rainbow dealer who I could talk to about purchasing a new unit? I am going to gift my e-2 gold to my mom, and would like to purchase a new one for myself. The dealer I bought my e2 from several years ago is no longer around. Thanks!

I LOVE my E2 gold, but my E2 black is a better machine in just about every respect, if you can believe it! It doesn't have that shrill sound that sets off my tinnitus, and its generally quieter, noticeably more powerful, I LOVE the wands and being able to use the Rainbowmate on them. I had serious doubts about the PN design at first, but when they changed to the permanent belt off to the side, it helped, and then using it erased all remaining doubts about those spinny brushes on the side. I love the new 4qt tub too, much better design than what came before it. And I love the hose being a foot longer, and the trigger lock on the handle. I also love the lights that shine into the water, as I love watching all that action, and they help you see when you need to change the water. The only thing better than getting one of these is getting a good deal on it when you do!

other considerations

I also love my rainbow e2 black, however, you may want to consider a Sirena or a Quantum. They will clean just as well as a Rainbow at a much cheaper price. If you decide you want an actual new Rainbow, they are certainly very good machines though.

I was so excited the evening I bought my 75th Anniversary Edition E2 Black. I knew from my years of working at a Rainbow service center that the wholesale price was $550 on the new model, but I couldn't find anyone to sell me one for less than $2000. I ordered the repair parts (as assemblies) and put my new machine together from brand new parts. My Rainbow runs 24/7 from October thru April in my bedroom with the green germicide (D & A) in distilled water, and I've never had a dry mouth in the morning, nor have I had colds or the flu since. It's an awesome machine, one of my all time favorites.

Are Rainbow repair parts that cheap?

I had always found them to be terribly expensive, then again that was paying wholesale.

In most cases the sum is worth more than the whole. They once did a study as to why car theft was so popular. It's because at the time a $12,000 Honda Civic was worth $64,000 in parts.

Guess you could say you got it just like Johnny Cash's Cadillac "One Piece at a Time".

Were you able to get your new Rainbow?

Up until a few years ago, I had always been a Kirby snob. But after acquiring an E2 Gold Rainbow, I was easily converted. While I still love all of my Kirbys, my Rainbow has become my go to machine for weekly deep cleaning. I recently upgraded to the new model, and I could not be more pleased at the upgrades. The new wand design, lit water pan, power nozzle, and general quietness of the machine have made me love my new Rainbow even more.

They are worth every penny and I recommend them to everyone Who loves a truly clean home.

Dandagreer, ha, my experience was almost exact opposite to yours. I've had Rainbows since 1999 and only 3 months ago got into Kirby's! My interest/facination is on Kirby's at the moment, so I've been using them to vacuum, my Rainbows are still loved and will always have them. I grew to accept Kirbys as an option for me after watching VacLab's testing of them with Hepa filters on youtube. I like both for different reasons, but I don't think Rainbows can clean DEEPLY like a KIrby can....they just don't have the nozzle cfm possible for that. So, I use my Kirby's for deep cleaning and Rainbows for more everyday dirt/dust collection
