And this is the Hoover Special that my neighbor gave me that I told you about in thread #3533. I do have the original bag for it, but put this genuine Hoover replacement bag on it for time being until the original bag is repaired. I did clean it up some before these pics were taken, still more work to be done! Jeff |

These are the ones that were in a house my cousin was cleaning out for a friend whose Grandfather had passed away. They are, from left to right, Hoover Convertible model U4005, Royal model 602 75th Anniversary Edition, Kirby Classic III (with a Heritage? bag), Electro-Hygiene 890 (with a Royal bag), and Sanitaire Heavy Duty model S663, 25th Anniversary model. They all run great except that the Kirby seems to have a bearing going out. The bags on the Hoover and Sanitaire were packed so full that I changed bags before I even tried them out!! Other than that, I hadn't done anything with them yet when the photo was taken. Jeff |

Is a Kirby 517 with attachments, polisher, and instruction book and a Hoover Concept One with attachments and instruction book that were given to me from a friend I used to work with. The Kirby is missing the upper cord hook but has a genuine Kirby conversion bag that takes Eureka F & G bags. It seems to be a bit loud, possibly a bearing on the way out? Otherwise it runs great. The Concept One has a non-working cord winder but otherwise seems to run pretty good, and features the quadriflex agitator. Jeff |

Jeff What great additions to your collection. See they really do start coming to you, don't they! Remember, I found the carpet shampoo attachs and box for the Dual 50, remind me the next time we see each other. Norm |

That first picture of them all lined up, I dunno why but them being faded and dirty adds something..I don't know what it is. |

Well, I've got some good news, especially about the Kirby Classic III. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions--the noise it was making wasn't bearing noise after all, but brush and belt issues! Just for the heck of it, I turned it on with the belt lifter in the "off" position, and NO NOISE!! Then I took the nozzle off, took the brushroll out and turning it by hand found out it was binding a little. I cleaned it up, gave the ends a shot of Liquid Wrench, and soon it was spinning freely. Then I put it back in and installed a new belt and now it runs the way it should--and is one of the QUIETEST Kirbys I've ever seen!! Also have cleaned up and polished the 966 Electro-Hygiene tank and the 602 Royal. They both look much better. And I have a genuine Electro-Hygiene bag on the way for the 890, so I guess I better get that one polished up next! Jeff |
