Well I bet they do a great job cleaning, but I have a hard time accepting that they are now called "electrolux"

To me it is just an upper class Eureka

I disowned

I disowned electrolux around this time. Its just not an electrolux to me. However I am intrigued by it and would not mind having one. But I will not spend the kind of money they want for them.

Electrolux Oxygen

I bought mine on March 3 and just this week changed the original bag for the first time. I really hated to admit how much I loved the machine. The type "S' bag was compleley odor free for the intire time I used the machine. Never any dusty or doggy smell. My machine is very, very quiet. I liked the changes they made in the new power nozzle.

Electrolux Oxygen

Very interesting exhaust. It comes out on all 3 sides. Note how the hose comes out the top of machine. Both ends turn. The machine can be placed in the center of the room and the hose turns much like a GE or Air-Way. The machine has lights to tell you what power level, time to change bag and time to change filter. Machine will also sit on end for storage. The handle also operates the cord rewind. Very easy to use power nozzle that easily goies under kitchen cabinets and I like the new type of lighting on the power nozzle.

Electrolux Oxygen

Terry,
I know how you feel! I had a BIG problem with the Electrolux name on the machine but you need to try one out. I was just so surprised to find a modern vacuuun with such a quiet motor and so easy to use. I used to work for Electrolus when I was in college on summer vacation. That was the time when they introduced the 1205. The telescoping wand can be adjusted at the top and also at the bottom. It has an almost square tube and useful dusting brush which is shaped to fit between cabinets etc. It has the first power nozzle I have ever used that I really do use to clean the hardwood floors. Check the large wheels on the machine. You cannot turn it over and because of the way the hose comes out the top of machine it is very easy to move over the doorways. They give you a choice of three bags. (1) paper (2) micro-filter (3) anti-order-with charcoal filtration. I used the anti-order and it did not lose suction or have any stale orders. Also when I changed the bag there was not a trace of dust in the machine compartment. The bag also has a flap to close the dirt hole .The machine has a flap that closes the hose connection when you remove the hose from the cleaner. I did not like the extra wide floor brush. The hose handle has a very nice shape and size and the off/on,speed control/brush control are also on the hose handle.Being a vac collector I am very crititcal of the design and features and this is one of the best new cleaners I have used. I am having some vac friends over soon and I will let them give it a real test.

The plastic power nozzle wands on these Eureka style machines don't hold a perfectly tight connection at the hose and in the middle and tend to "melt" after a period of time. I have seen many of them replaced. In fact, while I visited Andy Weter's vacuum store back in March he had to replace the wands on this very same vacuum. It was the second time the vacuum had been to his shop for the same repair.

Thanks for the report William. Will look forward to hearing what you friends think of it. I agree with you. It is a well made machine and a very user friendly design. The only other complaint I have heard is that the bag is small. That really doesn't bother me. Glad to hear you have had such good luck with the special bags.

Cool looking machine. I've been thinking about getting one, but read a lot of bad reviews about them. I really like the newly designed powernozzle with the LED headlights, but the machine is SO expensive.

Electrolux Oxygen

Logan,
That's the complaint I have heard about too. Electrolux told me they have made changes in the power nozzle and wand. It's just so darn easy to use I would almost be happy to replace it after a time. Andy Weter gave me some good advise and told me to turn off the power before disconnecting the wands.
I heard a lot of complaints about the Electrolux electric wands doing the same thing when they came out but I never had any troulbe with my Epic 8000-so far. Don't you imagine we collectors are more careful with our machines than the regular customer. Years ago I spent several days in one of our vac collectors vac shop. Boy did that EVER open my eyes! I just could not believe how some customers would pay a lot of money for a piece of equipment and then just completely abuse the machine.
