Hey
The person selling me eureka hose has an electro hygiene vacuum from around 1930's. I dont have pics im asking him to send me some. I was wondering if anyone had directions on how to take handle off so he can ship it. If i get pics ill post. Thanks Les One last question probably ben or any royal vacuum experts. My 880 has an oil bearing in motor housing. I have seen hank use a oil similar to one used on chain saws. I may be wrong but guessing. What do you oil bearing with 5 in 1 oil? Les |

It's fairly simple to remove the handle from an Electro-Hygiene upright. First remove the bag by unhooking it from the handle and giving the coupler a twist where it connects to the fan case. Next, unplug the pigtail cord connection near the motor. Then you will find a bolt going through the handle yoke with a wing nut. Loosen and remove the wing nut and the bolt, then the handle should pull out of the yoke. If I remember right there is also a locator pin that you may have to line up with the slot before you can pull the handle out. There is also a wing nut and bolt about halfway up the handle that will allow you to break the handle down further. Here is a pic of my model 94, I'm assuming it is like the one you are getting. The wing nut at the yoke can easily be seen, the one at the midway point is where the black clamp is on the handle. Hope this helps.
Jeff
