I decided to make a video review demonstrating the run time capability of the V10.

In this video I bring the camera with me while I vacuum the whole house with no pauses or editing to the videos to fully show the full run time performance of the new V10.

If you are the sort of person who likes to watch paint dry you will LOVE these videos.

As you can see the V10 has more than enough run time and performance to clean an average home.

After making this video I then re-vacuumed the entire house using my brand new mains powered upright Dyson Ball Animal 2 and as you can see from the pictures apart from a small amount of carpet fuzz the bin is empty - thus concluding that the V10 performs as well as a mains powered machine on normal levels of dirt.

Thank you for this video Matt. I hope a few certain people will watch this and see how well it actually performs.

Not bad for a cordless 😉

Matt I did see one reviewer who mentioned that the Cyclones don't work very well on the V10 and the filter clogs quickly. Have you found this?

Filters - Very good question

I've seen the video you mention with the heavily soiled filter. Until this morning I haven't opened mine up to look at it, mostly I suppose because I'm so happy with the machine I didn't want to know if it had such a major flaw. Out of sight out of mind as they say haha

Anyway. A brief run through of use it has had.

I have cleaned a relatives house with it. This was filthy and I filled the machine to the max line twice with really fine powdery dust. At one point you could see a thick line of this fine dust entering the bin as I vacuumed some upholstery with the small motorised head. Kind of looked a bit like I was vacuuming up a bowl of brown flour. I might go back and make a video of the machine here as it really was impressive (they have a cylinder Dyson with a straight suction head on it).

First voyage around our house with it filled it to the max line with the same type of dirt that can be seen in the bin in the video.

Further use in our house over the following days has picked up a total of another bins worth.

So all in all its picked up 4 bin fulls worth of dirt.

This is how the filter looks.

I'd say it will be fine with the recommended monthly filter wash. The user in the youtube video with the heavily soiled filter had been overfilling it well over the max fill line I think thus causing the filter to soil rapidly.

Yes I agree with you there about overfilling the bin. But I don't want to start another argument here haha

It does seem to perform very well to me. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Ventured outside with the V10 today to give my car a quick going over. It is in at Volvo for a service later this week so I'll give it a deeper clean after that... today was just to get rid of the visible surface litter. My drivers floor mat is ready for shampooing so excuse the state of it.

The V10 did fantastic on medium power level. Max power setting wasn't required at all.

Decided I'd give the mothers car a VERY quick going over while I was out there. This car resembles a farmyard inside and was only vacuumed just over a week ago! Gave the front footwells a quick poke about to get rid of the worst of the muck. It's not worth making an effort to get this car nice as she'll only trash it again within days LOL

It has cleaned up as well as can be expected with just a dry vacuum. Gave the mats a good going over with the crevice tool first before going over again with the slightly larger combi tool. Again all done on the middle power setting. I did go over the drivers footwell on the max power setting after first doing it on medium power but it didn't pull any extra dirt out so I put it back to the medium power setting for the rest of the car.

All of this and I only lost one of the three bars of power on the battery indicator.

That flexible hose makes it much easier to clean your car.

I wonder if I can get one for my V8?

Yeah you can get one for your V8 but it comes as part of the handheld tool kit.

The V8 tools and V10 tools are also interchangeable as they're the same fitment style and size

Hey guys!

Matt, wow nice pics and so happy to see Dyson combined the two filters by adding one onto the end of the pleated HEPA filter... do you think it will be more difficult to rinse?? How do you think it will hold up with washing every month? You are absolutely correct on filters and going over the Max Fill Line. Dyson warns of that and marks the vacuums with that line for a reason LOL.. too bad some folks like that guy don’t use commen sense. I always ask those people who disregard common sense or manufacturer recommended maintenance a question. I say “would you drive your car for years at a time, never changing the Oil?” Probably not, so why not take a quick moment or two and take care of your vacuum too. Anyway, thank you Matt for your awesome review of both new Dyson vacuums! That is very kind of you to clean your relatives home, it shows you’re a good person. Oh and as I already figured.. your car is very clean and tidy too and it’s great to see you take such excellent care of your belongings.

Mark, I LOVE my V8 but wish yours had come with all the attachments mine did. Along with the Soft Fluffy Brushroll and the Direct Drive Brushroll, my V8 came with the extension hose you mentioned, mini soft dusting brush, mattress tool, stiff bristle brush, up top tool, mini motorized tool, combination accessory tool and crevice tool with my V8 Absolute. But. I know some of those were added bonus for buying it from QVC when they first released them. I wish the USA and UK Dyson were identical as you have things I really want and I’m not sure but we might have some accessories or things you might want. But I learned with my V6 how much I use the hose for cleaning, not just the car but a lot of home cleaning too. I hope you can find one, as I’m sure you will find it very useful. I’m just happy that if and when I get a V10.. all my V8 tools will be compatible!

I actually called Dyson helpline yesterday and after the guy helped me and check my online order, he commented “wow, you own a lot of Dyson products”! (I currently have 20 registered items) So he asked if there was anything I needed as far as attachment tools that he could give me, free of charge. I said, well not really as when I recently bought my Ball Animal 2 and my Small Ball Multi.. they both came with the USA program “three free tools with registration” and I have every single attachment tool in multiples now. He said, how about the hanging tool caddy.. told him I have two, then he though of the Dyson Tool Caddy Bag (pic 4) and I was like.. cool I don’t have one of those. So he kindly sent me one free of charge. I LOVE Dyson for many reasons but they have the best customer service in the business!! They are good to all customers, but I find they are extra nice to loyal customers like me. I’ve been given Free Priority Shipping of anything I order for life, I also get a discount on every purchase.

Ok, sorry for rambling on and on but with this thread and Roger Lang’s “Week of Dyson” on his YouTube.. I’m kinda High on Dyson this week!! LOL. Thanks to you both for being so patient with me and my extreme enthusiasm in my posting. I appreciate you both and thank you for being two who always respond and comment on my posts. I still feel invisible on here sometimes as I rarely get replies and comments on my posts. Oh well, guess I’m not exciting enough or controversial enough.. haha

Take care you guys... Thanks!

Yes that is something you cannot fault them on. Customer service is the best I've seen. 😊

You are all tooled up and ready to go Patrick 😁

The new filter design looks like it will be very easy to wash. Only time will tell how it will hold up to regular washing though.

Yeah my car gets looked after to the extreme haha it's my baby.

And I agree.... You can not bat Dysons customer service

Wow... Ok, my Name is Patrick and I’m a Dyson-aholic!

These pics show ONLY the tools that I have out to use daily and some of the ones stored in my “Vacuum Room” or as my partner Robbie calls it the “used to be spare bedroom”. Each of my current Dyson vacuums that are carefully in storage, have all their attachment tools stored, included with that vacuum. I also have a small storage tub that I have “misplaced” somewhere in the house with about 15 or 20 more attachments... no joking I probably have a total of 10 Tangle Free Turbines and way too MANY Dusting brushes! LOL. I also have brand new, still in the boxes, one or two of every single attachment that fits the Upright Style (pre-red button new style of the V8, Cinetic Cylinder and UK Animal 2) Dyson makes.

Yikes, do I have a problem or am I just a die hard collector? hehe Please, nobody call the Hoarders Show People!! 😳🤪

Thanks
