My husband and I got my Kirby Heritage II up and working! I have had him for years and finally got to him! The previous owner over used a disposable bag and it had exploded inside! I took his outer bag and emptor off, washed his bag in woolite, hung it to dry, reinstalled it, put a new bag in him, my husband installed a new belt, brush roll, and rug plate. His cord had been spliced with a lamp cord from the previous owner too. My husband removed the lamp cord section, I bought a yellow plug end which we will paint black in the future, and he put that on. The original cord is now shorter, but I wanted to keep the originality! Tonight we replaced the lightbulb and my husband cleaned the contacts. It works great now! This is the quietest Kirby I own! I love him!

Looks like a great addition to your collection! The Heritage II is a solid performer, just like the Legends.

Now to verify the performance of the HII, go try and lift a volkswagen with it like in this old ad... :o)

BTW, I have one of those scrubby-duckies, too!

Thank you! I got the Heritage II and DS 50 together years ago off of EBay. My DS50 needs the bearings greased and a fork spring. We just replaced the ugly and gross blue bag someone put on it. I found an aftermarket tan bag on EBay that looks so much better! I am going to buy a lightbulb tomorrow for him! I want to see that Kirby logo light up! I bought the Sentria off Facebook a few years ago and cleaned him up good! I got my Omega off EBay 2 summers ago. I always liked the Omega and wanted one! That was the first vacuum I ever cleaned a bag on! All of my Kirbys work great except my DS50, but he will be fixed soon! I am watching a Tradition on EBay that I am wanting to add to my Kirby collection! I have a bunch of Electroluxs and 2 Hoovers also! Kirbys are becoming my favorite!

Haha! That's awesome! Thank you! I sure love my Kirbys! Haha scrubby duck! He is such a wonderful vacuum! I truly love using him! I switch off, they all get a chance to clean! Except for poor DS 50! He needs his bearings greased, new brush roll, and belt! I am getting him a new lightbulb tomorrow. I want to see that Kirby logo lit up!

Nice! That was my first Kirby! Mine is from 1984, so it has the older Classic style nozzle instead of the newer "slimline" nozzle.
