Figured I’d show this because I never would of thought of me ever owning one of these. I purchased it on eBay. I was a bit skeptical if it ran or not. It didn’t bother me if it didn’t run because as far as I know of there’s only one other collector with one. I forgot his name however I believe his was the one in the vacuum museum. The motor on his is gone. There is a video of him showing his on YouTube. I am curious if any other collector owns one and if it works. When mine arrived and I turned it on and I was in aww. The motor runs so smooth. Upon texting the seller supposedly it was in his neighbors house and it was stuck up on the second floor of their house buried in a closet. Which is probably how this thing was saved over the years. Overall it’s in amazing condition. It even has its original colored crevice tool which is way thinner than a normal Fantom crevice tool and has a groove in it. It also has its floor and crevice tool holder. I doubt I will ever find the other original attachments in the Vectron color. All I can say is I am happy with just the crevice tool. The only thing wrong with it is the hose is ripped and the bottom cord hook is broke. Which isn’t surprising from a fantom. I wish I could post a video of it running but I don’t know how. Otherwise let me know if you own one of these and if your runs. Also what’s the history behind these? We’re they being sold when the original gray 11 amps were being sold or before that? Also it surprises me that this has a 10 amp motor and feels like it has more suction then any of my other Fantoms. I will also attach some photos of my other fantoms.

I never knew that the Johnson Wax company made vacuums! Very nice find!

I remember seeing that on eBay and being amazed that nobody bid on it. I’m glad it went to a good home.

They really did change a lot between that machine and the thunder. Even the brush roll is different!

It’s elevated performance may be its lack of a filter (and maybe lit trap, too. Does it have a lint trap?). You could take the filter off one of your Thunders and compare.

Thankf or sharing!

The Vectron has no lint trap. There is nothing stopping dirt from going into the motor except for the dual cyclone. As far as comparing you can’t compare. The Vectron isn’t capable of having a filter. They made the exhaust different from any other fantom.

I had two Vectrons at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. I sold one to fellow Vac Collector, Greg Palmer. I still have the other one.

IONA made the Vectron to Dyson patents for Johnson Wax to sell commercially. They didn't hold up too well, which is why they were here and gone in two years.

IONA made them as household machines, calling them the Fantom and added the HEPA along the way.

Greg Palmer and I both got Vectrons from Tom

I am the one who has the video on YouTube. I believe Greg just put a new motor in his. I’m glad you found this one in such great shape, mine is pretty rough but I’ll get it running eventually.
