I also collect disposers as another person on Applianceville does-this new WK machie is FAR inferior to the older models that had the induction motor, cast shred ring, and undercutters.Undercutters cut stringy waste to small pieces so they won't clog your pipes-incidently DO NOT put coffee filters down your drain system-the disposer is strong enough to shred them-BUT they can clog your plumbing-paper pulp has that tendency except potty roll paper that is the ONLY paper that should go down a plumbing system. The other types of papers should go into your trash can-let the trash truck compactor take care of those.Right now I have a vintage Maytag disposer that I bought from "Volsboy" on Applianceville. It replaced a ISE Evolution 3 machine-that old Maytag is MUCH better!!!Look for older NOS vintage machines-worth it.The NEW WK had a DC brush motor that won't last as long as the older induction motors. On one of those WK machin es I have the motor rectifier burned out.

Yes,if you can find an older NOS WK machine-by all means get it! Far better than the made in China WK machines sold today. And those older ones were more rugged.I have a few in my disposer collection and like them.

Waste King made good dishwashers. Very much like Thermador. Back when Waste King was part of Universal.

Look on the sister site to this one for other appliances than vacuums.Indeed the old original Waste King disposers were BETTER than the new models made by Aneheim Engineering. They bought out Waste King. Sad----the "New" WK disposers are made in China!
