Hi everyone!

So I was brousing through Ebay last night and came across a brand new Aerus Classic ( black ) for sale. I started clicking through the pics and to my suprise was just astonished with the brush roll on this current brand new machine. I enclosed a pick. The brush roll looks worn down to me. The brushes on the brush roll are very thin. Shocked! As a true lux diehard....I am just so dissapointed with the quality.

I have an Electrolux Genesis LXe upright that I picked up at a thrift store last fall and its brush roll's bristles are way different from those my PN5, which came with a Diamond Jubilee canister. The Genesis brush roll's bristles are indeed shorter and stiffer than those on the PN5, which are longer, softer and more splayed out. It does an okay job, but doesn't pick up cat hair off a Persian rug as well as I'd like. I ended up swapping the two brush rolls and now the Genesis does better on Persian rugs and the PN5 acts like it's self-propelled.

Yes....I just think this new brush roll in the pic looks like it is already worn.

Yes, the bristles do look a little bit sparse. Do you think someone swapped in a used brushroll before selling it or does it actually appear to be new?

I am just wondering if this is the new quality of brush rolls that you will be getting.

Go to ebay and look for American Vacuum Supply. Look for Electrolux Brush Roll for PN 5 or 6.

They are very good brush rolls and seem to have more spiral and brushes than the picture

above. They also have the end caps included.

Yes it does appear to be the normal quality. Just still wondering if the quality has gone down on the new machines being sold.
