Well, Everybody--Nathan's found a really OLD, OLD Vacuum! This one is an old pumper! Got it at an antique store/flea market, for only $5.00! I will be posting pictures of it tomorrow. Does anybody have a floor head for it? The vacuum says patented Jan. 20, 1914--I bet it's that old if not older! It does have a brand name on it, I'll include that when I take a picture of it. Anyway--It's a beauty! I'll be posting pictures of it tomorrow! I also got at the same antique store/flea market a Sunbeam quick-broom powerbrush vacuum, it's a pretty neat vacuum, I'll post pictures of it also, I kinda have a feeling it's rare.

Nathan's Oldest Vacuum

Nathan's Oldest vacuum is a Reeve's, it says "Reeves Suction Sweeper." I just need to find a nozzle for it, I guess that's why it was not very expensive, I paid only $5.00 for it, I paid $10.00 for the other vacuum, so 2 for $15.00 isn't too bad. If anybody might have a spare nozzle, holler!
The Reeves says Patented Jan. 20, 1914, Apr. 14, 1914. So, I figure it's pretty interesting!
Needless to say that is now "My Oldest Vacuum Cleaner!"

Hi Nathan

i think you may be looking for the Reeves nozzle for some time. There used to be a member in the VCCC, maybe he still is, who has a very large collection of pre electric vacuums. I can't remember his name but his handle was Dirtfinder? Dirt collector? Something like that. Look in the members lists. Maybe you can contact him and see if he can help you.

The Sunbeam you have there is a rare find IMHO. A friend of mine found one and gave it to me. I have not seen to many. I usually see the other Sunbeam brooms here and there. Mine does not have a bag. I made a bag but tracing the outline of the hole and cut a collar out of cardboard and glued a hoover bag onto it. It works so so.

Good Luck in your search!

Marty
