Well my Starks/Royal 4650 finally destroyed the pigtail that goes into the swivel head thing on the base of the power head.
I could probably jury rig something that would work but if anyone has a good one or knows where to get one I'd appreciate it. The old ones done right where the cord emerges from the male plug to go into the power head so can't just strip it back and solder or put some crimp connectors on it to make it work. I have a blue 413 power tank but it uses a different power head and connectors so don't really want to steal or cut anything off it to custom make something that would work.
I figured out with a bunch of effort how to get the cord off the rest of it and that's where it sets for now.
Thanks for any info or parts.

Hey

I may be shooting in the dark but cut plug from a heavier extension cord. Buy a generic pig tail plug solder pig tail to extension cord. I'd use heat shrink over any exposed wires. It should work just make sure extension cord is same gauge wire as cord your replacing.

Yeah, I think I could use some drop light cord and make something that would work. Not sure if I have any in stock anymore but I'm sure I could dig some up. I could use the stuff from the other one but that would disable it so not going to do it.
Haven't used the 413 since I found the 4650 which has a much better power head when it's working. Have to look through my junk and see what I can dig up.
Unfortunately when I found the other powered hose to fix this one it didn't have the pigtail I need as far as I can remember.

Thanks, but that's just two regular ac male power plugs so won't do me any good. Now if I can find a official Royal round 2 pronged male plug with the proper spacing I could just swap the plug and it would work like before.

No, haven't been looking real hard yet, thinking about seeing if the 413 powertank still works and wondering who else might have used that plug setup. If you have one or can point me where I can get one let me know so contact me. I was thinking about just redoing it with some round droplight style cord and eliminating the plug but would be nice to have it work like it's supposed to if I ever want to just remove the powerhead.

If only the cord is broken off and none of the rest of it is damaged, you should be able to just dissect the molded plug, get the contacts out, solder on a new cord, and remold it all into epoxy glue.

Thanks, I'll hold off on hacking in a different cord then and wait to see what you come up with. I usually use IrfanView and resize all my pics to 800x600 and they upload fine here directly from my computer. Hopefully we can work something out and I don't care what color the cord is as long as it works. The hose was from a 4600 on eBay anyways so all the colors are mismatched now but it made my 25 buck local buy work again and cost way more than the whole vacuum did but it worked great from about 3 years ago when I Frankensteined all the parts together.

Here's a parts diagram and list for it, most parts are OOS but it gives you the OEM part numbers. Maybe worth it to get the part number you need and then call local vac shops and see if they have any?

Also random guess, but have you tried Electrolux Power Nozzle cords?

More pictures

Those are all good suggestions and here some more pictures to help make it easier to see if any of those cords will work. The pics are hard to make out to see what shape they are but one of them would probably work if I just used the plug and not the little housing it snaps into then into the rest of the hose pipe.

Well, checked in today and no mail yet but it might have gotten thrown in my spam. I broke out the blue 4.3 power team and it works fine except the hose is full of holes so I vacuumed the main living areas with it. A much simpler power head and cord setup for it but it just doesn't groom the carpet near as well and I used to love that machine, at least it works.

Repaired it today finally

Finally had a free Saturday so tore apart the power nozzle and tried the black pigtail which fit without all the extra pieces just fine. Was fun trying to remember how to get the housing off then tear down all the stuff where the wiring and height adjuster goes, plus routing the wires again after trying to get everything back in place properly. I also replaced the cogged belt as mine had several damaged areas but was still working. At least the belts are still readily available and cheap even locally through Stark.
Ron, I tried to send you the postage through PayPal but you hadn't picked it up a week or so later so I was having problems with my debit card and canceled it. If you want your shipping let me know and I'll resend to your email or whatever you want, thanks, Terry.
