I need to restore the gasket material that seals the metal bottom plate to the nozzle of an older Convertible as it is starting to come off. What are some products I should try?

Kirby makes a rubber gasket material for the older models, like the classic etc. You can find it on Ebay. I have

used it on hoovers, vintage vacuum cleaner rug plates etc. It can be trimmed or cut with a razor knife etc.

It has worked well for me. One side has an adhesive side, just make sure the surface you put it on is pretty clean,

by scraping the old off first.

Thanks,

I applied some 24-hour-cure multi purpose silicone after cleaning the residue with a wire brush. I'll see what happens.
