I'm cleaning up a PN2 that came with my Golden J. What kind of oil should I use on the brush roll bearings? Thanks!

I'm wondering if this is what to use...or maybe just sewing machine oil?

These threads always turn into a battle of the egos, but people either say 3 in 1 oil, sewing oil, or SAE-30 nondetergent motor oil. I use SAE30 oil myself, the others are too light for high rpm vacuum motors.

I used sewing machine oil the other day because its all i had on hand at the time clean and oil my power head for my Electrolux AP 200 seems to do fine again its all i had on hand at the time a few nights ago so it works for me so far. I have heard of 3 in 1 oil or SAW30 il try those and see what it does. But as of now i use sewing machine oil cuz its the only one i had.

What gives Tri-Flow an advantage in tests is that after the oil is used up, Teflon remains. Personally, I'd rather have the oil itself be designed for the job at hand.

I know a stellar tech in vintage analog gear that lubes reel deck motors with Tr-Flow.....not because it's the best oil, but because yrs down the road as the oil is used up/slung away from the bearings Teflon will remain. In short, he won't get the deck back for dry motor bearings.
