It's good that you are repairing it and not tossing it for some plastic fantastic Wal-Mart vacuum. It's a great vacuum that will last you for many years. I have some G parts I will sell you if you need them, such as the switch and motor. Have you inspected the cord? Sometimes the cord will become brittle and the wires wear out from stress. Try a different cord by plugging it into the switch. If that still does not fix the problem, it might be your motor. I can send you a healthy replacement motor for $70 if you need one. Motors for these are rather expensive and I'm practically giving this one away. If you need parts, email me at adin.raiche@gmail.com

That may be, but buying stuff @Aerus is like retail plus 50%. I've seen the motors on eBay for about $59 ea on average, guaranteed to work.
Aerus has a floor brush I want for $50....doesn't mean I'm going to pay that.
