I have a vintage 519 that I got from a friend's grandmother. It works great except that the brushroll constantly jams and burns up the belt. It's an older style non ball bearing one. I've taken the adjuster screws out of the plastic end bushings and disassembled the whole thing, cleaned it up and oiled it as best as I could, put it back together and it was great.. until it got just a little bit of hair wrapped on it. I just cleaned it again today and after doing 3 rugs it was jammed again. I would be willing to buy a ball bearing brushroll, does anyone know of one that would fit a vintage 519? Or how to fix the existing roll (semi) permanently?

Thanks!

I believe 515-560 even up to d80 have same brush roll. You could replace nozzle as any above mentioned would fit. A new brush roll should work too but must be missing seal plate, screws or some other warped part jamming it.
You can also get knurled belts. Newer belts put a lot of pressure on the spindle.
