I don't believe anyone has ever asked this question before, but I may be the first to do so. The ends of the hose for my 519 Kirby are the problem. The end that fastens to the coupler , the metal locking nut, does not always stay fastened to the coupler no matter how well I twist it on . I guess the vibration of the motor as well as wear and tear causes it to loosen. Similarly, the other end of the hose presents another problem with the extension tubes sliding off too easily.
Are there any solutions or suggestions to this problem , or should I just replace these old end pieces?

Hey
There are few ways to get results. You could use a clear silicone caulk/adhesive let dry 24 hours should hold up rather well. You can get 1/4-1/2 inch metal self tapping screw drill maybe put washer on base of screw.
The last way might be how it should be and the way factory did it. Drill small hole and rivet hose to coupler. They all would work depends on what you want hose to look like in the end.
