Its odd that when we are growing up as vacuum collectors that we associate people with certain vacuums. Aunty Debra one of my Moms friends will always be remembered for her Philips p44, and the fact that Unlike most of my moms friends Aunty Debra had no problem with me hauling the vacuum out and using it every time we went their..... EVERY TIME !
It was the first Cylinder machine I had seen and used, At the time uprights still ruled the Roost here.

So my wife didn't even realize what the significance was when she found my Philips p44, I have a p42 in yellow but not the same one Aunty Debra had, What is truly Awesome is that this one came just about complete with all its original parts. It didn't suck however and had the slow winding down motor typical of a machine its age were the grease had seeped out of the bearings.

The motor on these is sealed But given the right amount of time and tools , Nothing is sealed. New bearings were ordered and the motor stripped, The fans were also filled with dust that had left them out of balance.
