One of these is listed on eBay as new in box and I kind of always wanted to try one, but at the same time I dont want to try it because many people have said it is absolute garbage. My aunt had one but she didnt like it all that much. Any of you used one and how was your experience?

I don't use it regularly, but, it's great. I've not had any problems, although I have heard others complain.

It was terrible. The 'self cleaning' filter was anything but. They are also VERY heavy. What a monstrosity to push around the house. The bagged version at least worked well.

As with all machines.

some will like them, some dislike them, some bash them.
Nothing and no one is perfect.
As stated, mine works flawlessly, so far.

I had the orange model of this vacuum.

It had plenty of power, and did well when grooming the carpet. However, two major downfalls of this model was its weight, and that spinning self-cleaning filter was a major tech failure. More dirt remained in the filter instead of being knocked out of it. I got rid of this machine. What were the Hoover engineers thinking???
