I have an Ultimate G - Diamond Edition. I was vacuuming a couple days ago and the selector switch just dropped on the floor. I watched a video on youtube on how to take the machine apart and solve the problem. The guy used a hacksaw to make a small indentation on the end of the selector switch shaft and then used a c-clip to hold it in place. I ended up doing the same thing but I'm wondering how is the switch held in place in the first place?

Thanks,
Gary

Countryguy,

You are supposed to replace the switch and Bracket Cam assembly at the same time with new parts. Here are the proper instructions for the repair:

Those instructions are the same as the ones I followed in the video. By making a notch in the selector switch and using a c-clamp, there was no need for any new parts.
