Hi,
I've read a couple of post on how to line a woven hose with latex or rubber. I'm fairly new to restoring these pieces of art and need a little more direction. My first question is how to remove the metal ends of the hose? I think I get the process beyond that but would welcome any tips or lessons learned. Plus if anyone has a video on how to do this that would be most welcomed.

Thanks in advance for your replies and suggestions

Brad

rather than trying to fix it

I would just replace it, replacement hoses for these vacuums are widely available, and some actually have a switch on them for the power nozzle. Which model of machine do you have?

I'm a purist

Would rather have it all original and usable. But thanks for the suggestion

I've kept my woven hoses for when I want to display them and have them look pretty but for functionality, an OEM vinyl hose is definitely the best, most cost effective solution. I've never actually tried to refurbish a woven hose but from what I've read on these forums, I doubt I would actually bother. Attempting to seal the hose often make it too stiff to use satisfactorily and the repair doesn't always last very well long term.

Thanks for the replies

I think I'm going to just the vinyl replacement hose. I do use my vintage Electroluxs for regular use and these will give the best performance
