Hi there. This was something that I keep on forgetting to post on here. These are one of the Panasonics that I have never seen in person before or seen what they actually look like online besides the manuals. Does anyone here have pictures of these before? I was curious of what colors they were and what was the quality on them besides the attachment kit.

For those of you that are not familiar with this, Panasonic did indeed made central vacuums before but these were only made in two different models (Plus the attachment kit) and they were only made for a short period of time.

My experience with Panasonic central vacuums has been very limited, probably because of the short time they were sold and the way they were distributed. The units themselves are basically identical to a Kenmore central vacuum system of the same time period. The one I took out of a house is light gray with Panasonic in black lettering, kind of like the larger unit on the brochure you posted. It was replaced with a SilentMaster S44 about 5 years ago, because the motor in the Panasonic had a destroyed lower bearing from all the debris ingested into it.

From what I gather, these were sold and distributed by Panasonic distributors and were probably only sold by dealers as replacement units or to Do-It-Yourselfers, not by any large scale central vacuum installation companies. When compared to a Vacuflo cyclonic unit, there are many design elements of the Vacuflo that make them more efficient than the Kenmore/Panasonic design. I'm assuming with Panasonic's long-term relationship with making Kenmore vacuums, is what lead Panasonic to begin purchasing Kenmore-built units, private labeled, to sell to their vacuum stores customers.

I didn't know Panasonic made a central vac. Guess your next house, panasonicvac, will have all Panasonic machines (with the central vac), and a truckmount for carpet shampooing.

I was expecting the colors to be more like ivory but I like the light gray color much better. I agree with the Vacuflo/Vacumaid being more efficient as I would prefer those over the Panasonic/Kenmore cyclonic design.

I wish I could collect all Panasonics but I'm only after the ones that matter to me the most. As for my choice on getting a central vacuum, I'm currently focused on getting a SilentMaster with the Stealth powerhead. And as for truckmounts, I would only hire someone to do it unless if I decided to do professional carpet cleaning for a career.

I have a Silentmaster similar to the one in the picure.I have the Stealth powernozzle---the VOLT OUTPERFORMS it!The Sebo powernozzle is better, too.

The Volt is an awesome powerhead, the dealer that I worked sells these and they are really impressive. Sebo makes really good powerheads but in my opinion, I prefer the Stealth or Lindhaus powerhead over those other two.
