I just picked this up today. Initial impression: it's quiet, the nozzle is powerful and produces a good amount of vibration. I'd recommend it for someone looking into a high end canister. There was a little adhesive and fiber stuck to the underside of the machine which is what's under there. The electric hand tool is not included with the vacuum, it was a separate purchase.

Now the airflow results.

Most of it's results were really good. Despite it's long hose it still had very good flow at the end of it. The surprise came at the nozzle. I partially feel like i couldn't get a good seal to the airflow box, i also noticed a lot of leakage when i placed my hand over the hole with the nozzle on top. While it's normal for power nozzles to lose airflow, and often a lot of suction due to do the neck, connections and brushroll ends. I'm surprised to see a loss like this from it. Despite it's nozzle CFM i do feel it cleans very well.

I Tried a "prototype" of one these machines at the vac shop-Mark the Tacony man was there-and liked the machine. This was before those vacuums were being built.Plan to order one soon.In the meantime using my Volt powernozzle with the various canisters and central vacuums I now have.During the video could hear debris going thru the powernozzle fan.Good feedback that you know the stuff was picked up.Did you look in the bag after your vacuum session?

Excellent work again Devin!

But am I seeing your nozzle CFM correctly? With both motors on, there is only a 2.57 CFM increase? If that's true, wouldn't that be proof of a poor design?

It would be interesting if you could test the nozzle alone

Without the canister running.  Then you could see if the CFM from the nozzle were fairly equal to that of the canister.  For I surmise if this were the case the whereas the canister were fairly matched, or has a lesser CFM, the canister in effect could be causing some back pressure, thus keeping the pair from achieving full potential.

OR

you could have a leak in your box.

Power nozzles and seals

blackheart's profile picture
When i place a Kirby on top of the box i can get a full seal if i put my hand in front of the box's opening the bag will not inflate at all so i feel as though the box is sealed. Part of it could in the lexan panels i use to adjust for smaller nozzles. I've noticed though that when i place any bypass machine on it if i put my hand to the hole there's a significant drop in suction vs measuring it at the wand or hose. I suppose i should get some figures with an upcoming airflow test to demonstrate this. I'm thinking it's from the joints and openings in a nozzle such as the neck, a swivel, any twists or turns in the path, the openings for the roller. I guess I'm unsure if i've shared photos of my box or not.

Regarding it's design. Could it be better sealed so that less flow is lost? I think so. I will say this though pitting the tandem against a Miele Cat and Dog canister the tandem has more agitation as the nozzle approached a line of sand the difference was pretty clear.
