This past weekend I went to some thrift stores and came across an Oreck Steam-It mop for sale. It looked to be in good condition and the power on and steam buttons worked, so I took a gamble and bought it and took it home. It is model Steam100LRH. There was some old water in the reservoir so I dumped it out and added a bit of bleach and let it sit for a few minutes. The mop did not have any cleaning bonnets included so I ordered the Oreck brand ones on Amazon. They were delivered today so I put the Oreck through its paces.

Wow! This thing really steam cleans the floors! The reservoir holds a large volume of water and you can regulate the steam intensity with a small dial on the side of the unit. The mop only came with the floor nozzle but other accessories are available. I'll probably only use it on my floors which are mostly hardwood and some linoleum. Once you turn the mop's steamer button on, it is ready to steam in about 15-20 seconds! The terrycloth like bonnets are high quality and fit nice and snug on the mop nozzle. There are also 4 clamps that keep it very secure. There are also sliding buttons on the floor nozzle that will engage or disengage a row of brushes for any stubborn stains on the floors. Overall I'm very satisfied with this Oreck steamer and like that I can clean the floors without harsh chemicals. I had been using a swiffer wet jet but the Oreck seems to pick up a ton more dirt than the swifter. And I love that it is electric and has a long power cord.

Has anyone else here used an Oreck steam mop?

Hey Jason, good find. I sold a ton of these when I worked part time at an Oreck store. They were the best bang for the buck. I think they sold for 179.99, a lot for a steam mop, but I felt the quality was there.

Yeah, pretty pricey at the time I think, but I got it for $20 which I think is a pretty good deal! I know Oreck had a VersVac too for a while and I still see it is for sale on their website (as a set with the handheld canister). It does both vacuum and steam clean, but not sure how it's steaming capabilities compare to this Steam-It.
