Okay, this is madness, but I have begun working on this new machine before I have completed 2 others.

Yesterday, my buddy from Houston was in town and dropped of a 1521 which he had obtained for me in Houston...for all of $20.

On inspection, I found that the switching mechanism was gone and that the previous owner sold it with the two wires joined. Vacuum would come on when plugged in.

This morning, I found a parts 1521 that had only part of the switching gear. The buttons, jig and screws. No switch to be found.

I had hoped to use a switch from an earlier model, but I could not make it work.

I found a spa day pictorial and blew up a picture to see what the switch looks like. But the picture was too blurry to actually see the part when I zoomed in.

Can someone send me a picture of the switch so I know what I am seeking? Better yet, does anyone have the switch that I seek?

Opps,

Okay, I found a picture of the switch and I think I know how to attach it. Pardon the post.

I will find or order one to restore this vacuum.

BTW, This one is a beige-ish vacuum.

Thanks, Andy...

I had another look at the push button mechanism and now I am not sure how this switch attaches.

I will take the vac to my Electrolux guy and see what he has/thinks on Monday.

Got it!

DUH!, finally took down my Ultralux Classic and saw where the switch goes.

So I will see Monday if my E-Guy has a switch.

Cheers!
