Hello all...Okay, so I know this is nothing particularly exciting to most, but I think it is a really nice find! Last week I purchased a 1990s Black&Decker Dustbuster off eBay, new in box for £20, delivered! Bargain! :D This model was one of the Top of the line Dustbusters as it has the motor Driven power head for stairs and sofas etc, also had the small cleaning tools and the 6v battery, so it was almost like the Dyson V8 of its day...I expect this model would of sold for about £50 at the time! So pleased to of gotten this machine! The quality is unbelievably high! It is a shame we don't tend to see quality like that now...Of course, this Dustbuster is made in the UK as you would expect...Less can be said for todays models! I took plenty of photos so you get a good luck at this machine, I really like it. I hope the batteries charge, they had no charge in them when I tried it so if this machine was packaged with flat batteries, then there is a good chance that they will charge up and hold their charge...Just got to wait the recommended 16 hours now...Time will tell and I will report back tomorrow if it has or not. Anyway, here are the photos, enjoy, :) |

This attachment is rather strange looking, but I imagine it is rather effective at picking up pet hair on stairs and upholstery, as it has a motor driven brushroll (needless to say, the Superbrush gets its electrical power via the contacts at the back of the Dustbuster, the same contacts that correspond with the charging tray). The Superbrush is easy to fit to the Dustbuster, it just attaches in the same way you would dock the Dustbuster in its charging tray...To remove the Superbrush from the Dustbuster, you just press a button on the rear of the attachment and it lifts right off. |

Here is the underside of the Superbrush...The brushroll looks pretty good on it, to be fair! It has long, relatively stiff bristles so should do a good job. The belt is replaceable, although, I am not sure if I could find replacements for it! I am sure I could find something to fit...It is a toothed belt, however, which is good, it should be fine for a long time. |

I always thought dustbusters were installed in kitchens or utility rooms. |

Wow, it matches the room. I used to have a Dustbuster Deluxe. It just had an additional attachment set. It wasn't motorized. I hated it because it barely had enough suction to puck up fuzz, let alone anything else. I hope they are better now. |
