Hello, So do any of you all think that Hoover or should I say TTI will ever come out with a new upright bagged machine anytime soon possibly under the Hoover name? |

The only bagged Hoovers left are the Tempo, T Series and Platinum uprights, none of which are good. Those are likely to be phased out soon as well, as all consumers want these days are 1 year tools on board bagless cleaners. Eureka has already made the mistake of phasing out all of the bagged machines including the AirSpeed bagged, the Smart Vac and The Boss 1934B. A poor choice if you ask me. The Boss 1934B and Smart Vacs were decent uprights, and the only thing I ever liked that Eureka made. Now that they're gone, and with Hoover and Dirt Devil likely to follow suit, the ONLY bagged machine on the shelves at Wal-Mart will be the Bissell PowerForce Bagged. It's a decent machine, but the days of ubiquitous great bagged uprights are gone. I'd get a Tempo or something while you still can.

Hello. I think hoovers current bagged uprights aren't that bad. The tempo has been basically the same for the past 12 or 13 years they just removed the headlight, and it's a decent bagged vacuum I think. It's one heck of a deep cleaner, almost as good as the wind tunnel supreme. As for the t series and platinum, I don't mind them. The t series has problems with the base design, and the platinum is way too expensive for what it is. Although it would be nice to see a new refreshed design.

I don't think Hoover or Eureka make any bagged canisters anymore either, that's really sad, because at one time both companies made some excellent bagged canisters that clean very well. Mike |

I have to respectfully disagree regarding the Hoover Platinum Bagged upright - I love mine! It is a simple, no frills vacuum that is easy to use and great at deep carpet cleaning. It reminds me of the bag-in-the-front Eureka Bravo I used to own except it has nicer conveniences like a 35-foot cord, headlight and 2-speed fingertip switch. It's also quieter than the Bravo. Yes it is more expensive, but I think it cleans deep carpets better than uprights costing twice as much.
Just wish TTI would sell it without the companion "PortaPower" canister which I find mediocre at best. They could knock off $50 on the price if they sold this great upright on its own. |
