I love the Eureka Power Teams! I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get a Montgomery Ward or Eureka Canned Ham Power Team someday.

Is that extra stretch of cord coming out of the hose handle original to the 1790? Is it removable? It looks like the power nozzle cord has too much slack. It might be electrically dangerous to have that extra piece of cord dangling from the hose handle when cleaning with just the hose and small attachments.

Love the Power Teams by Eureka! Just was never a fan of the poorly-designed hose handle that they had before the better Express Gas-Pump handle.

Keith, that's a lovely Eureka Vactronic you have there! Where did you find it?

Brian - I suspect that hose is a generic replacement, which would account for the cord dangling from the hose. The shape of that metal hose handle doesn't look the same as the Genuine Eureka hoses were, & also the suction control ring looks slightly different than the Genuine Eureka hoses had on them. It makes sense considering the vacuum's age that the original owner probably replaced the hose at some point before selling or discarding the machine.

Eureka power teams

Eureka did make some good power teams, at some point I would love to find a couple, probably their earlier ones before their quality started going down hill, maybe an early to mid 1970's model. I could have got a canned ham power team at the convention last weekend, but I couldn't carry much jmore than I already had and the canister had some bad rust on the inside, so I skipped it. From what I can tell, Eureka used a standard hose end on their canisters, unlike Hoover.

Hello Guys . Thanks for the reply and feedback -Yes the hose is a replacement , however I still have the original hose and it works. I just wanted a newer one. The cord does detach from the hose handle , and is detached when using other tools. I found this machine on EBay over 8 years ago. I really like it a lot ! I hope to find one of the canned ham power teams some day. Thanks again!
