I have to say, it is frustrating to vacuum under furniture with the Maytag, To lower the cleaner to the floor, one has to step on and hold the pedal in place until the vacuum is lowered enough that it unlocks. I find I have to push the vacuum quite low to get it to unlock and lie flat which is more difficult than it should be. I wish there was an easier way to put it in floating or locked mode. Are the other Tacony machines like this? Its isn't a big deal just a niggle. Keeping your foot on the pedal while lowering the machine in order for it to unlock can be a complicated dance with this particular machine. Most machines that have this setup unlock higher up so it isn't as hard to keep you for on the pedal and lower the vacuum. For some reason, the Maytag has to be lowered too far done and it makes the feature awkward. Id rather have a slide button like they have on the Kirby or something similar to what is on the Sebo uprights.

What furniture I have has stuff under it-vac parts, posters, movie banners,so on.So don't use my uprights that way.Remember the primary direct air motor is in the base-nozzle of the tandem air uprights-so it has to be taller to hold the motor and its fancase. |
