Awesome collection, Ben! Do you favor the Kirbys with the trapezoidal handles ('67-present) versus the cylindrical ones? Do you have all the accessories and manuals for each?

Left or right

My Classic and Classic III have the cord holder on the other side - out of the way of the bag.

Todd,

Yes, they are replacement grips. My Classic III did have the original grip you mention with the cord/bag hook on the same side of the machine as the motor switch, but my Mom's 1978 Classic III did have the grip design that places said hook on the side of the machine facing the bag, and that's what you currently see on my machine.

The Classic III's original pointed handle grip - with the cord/bag hook on the same side of the cleaner as the motor switch - was flimsy, since some of them broke off at the top.

Didn't you recently have a D50 too?

Mike,

I did... it was given to me by my niece (a trash find!), but it was nearly skeletal and so I decided to sell that one. Here's what it looked like.

Good news Ben! I found a G3 cord today at the Goodwill outlet store. It's in perfect shape, and all yours.

Mike,

How much would you be asking for this, please?

Also, would you like for us to pick this up? You live right by my grandparents, so my parents could bring me over if you wish.

Thank you very much!

~Ben

Ben,

You have a very nice collection! I am personally quite fond of the Kirby Classic III. As far as color schemes are concerned, that one, and the Legend II are my personal favorites. So much character! The Tradition runs a close second. Ironically, my collection lacks a Classic III and a Legend II. My Heritage has a Classic III top cord hook. I just have never ordered the proper one! Closest I've ever been to the Classic III.

Regards,
~Tim

I always wondered what would happen if my Internet froze whilst posting... It double-posted my comment!

Tim,

A replacement cord hook for your Heritage (top) would be part no. 173881.

Hi Ben

I can drop off cord or if you would like to check out my collection you can come over and pick it up. $2.00 would cover what I paid for it. Anytime this week end is fine as long as I know when.

Mike,

Thank you for letting me visit your house and seeing all your great vacuum cleaners... but most importantly, thank you for not only the G3 power cord but also the D80 suds cap and shoulder strap!

May I please put up the pictures that I took of your collection?

~Ben
