look for a little nub on the cordwinder spool and slip the spring over the nub |

I do not see a nub, there is a slot but it seems to be at the wrong angle to slip the spring in, do you have a picture of what I'm looking for? Thanks |

That spring should hook over a nub on the reel or it slips into the slot in the reel. Once you get the spring in the slot or on the nub then take the cord out where it is at the moment and give the drum a couple of winds with the cord and then place the cord back where it was. That way you have some tension on the spring. If the spring is coming off one drum counterclockwise it goes clockwise on the other drum. Hope that helps.
